Terry on Tour 2026 – Invitation to Surgery Appointments
July 2026
Dear Resident,
It is a huge honour to serve as your Member of Parliament, and I am thankful for the opportunity.
Following the election, I recruited a dedicated constituency team who have been busy working alongside me to support South West Norfolk residents over the past two years. We have been delighted to assist so many people, with 16,153 individual cases opened and more than 100 constituency advice surgeries delivered.
Over the following months I will be holding my annual ‘Terry On Tour’ across 31 of the 72 villages in the constituency.
I will be visiting Ashill, Beachamwell, East Harling, Emneth, Feltwell, Foulden, Gooderstone, Great Cressingham, Hilgay, Kenninghall, Marham, Marshland St James, Methwold, Narborough, North Lopham, North Pickenham, Northwold, Outwell, Shouldham, Southery, Stoke Ferry, Stow Bardolph, Tilney St Lawrence, Upwell, Watlington, Weeting, Welney, Wereham, Wiggenhall St Mary Magdalen and Wormegay.
This is an effort to make meeting with and speaking to your MP as easy as possible, which is always a challenge given the large geographical area that South West Norfolk covers. Should you or someone you know want to raise a question or a point of view or need support and wish to attend one of these surgeries, please email the office; terry.jermy.mp@parliament.uk
In your email, please include your full name, address, and an overview of the matter you would like to discuss.
Once you have confirmed your interest, the team will be able to confirm the date and time of the session nearest to you. To ensure people do not need to wait too long, we’re allocating time slots for attendees.
You can of course contact the office at any time with a query using the email above, or alternatively, you can keep up to date with my work by visiting www.terryjermy.com
I also issue a regular e-newsletter, which you can sign up to through the website.
Best wishes,
Terry Jermy MP
Member of Parliament, South West NorfolkKEY ACHIEVEMENTS
- £3billion for Queen Elizabeth Hospital and West Suffolk Hospital
Following the Government’s confirmation of £1.4 billion in funding for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) and a further £1.4 billion for West Suffolk Hospital, much progress has been made with the much-needed rebuild of both hospitals.
- New Norfolk Dentistry School
I lobbied the Government to create a new dentistry school in Norwich – which has recently been approved. The eastern region is the only region in the UK without such a school, contributing to a lack of available dentists in the area. 25 dental school places will be available from Autumn 2026.
- Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
I secured £20 million of Government funding for South West Norfolk for a new SEND school in Downham Market and led the campaign for this, collecting 800 signatures, calling on Norfolk County Council to commit to the proposal. I also employ a SEND specialist caseworker and we have supported more than 200 families since the election
I have also held SEND consultation events in the constituency with local people helping to inform the Government’s education and SEND reforms. We have compiled a report for the Department for Education highlighting rural inequalities regarding SEND and education more generally.- Pride in Place
Backed by £20 million from the Government over the next 10 years, we now have a Pride in Place Thetford Board, working under the umbrella of ForThetford. As your MP, I am a member of the board. A consultation was conducted in the summer of 2025, with around 1,000 people participating – thank you! This fed into the regeneration plan submitted to the Government, which has now been approved.
- Farming and the Environment
Since taking office, I have met with more than 75 farmers across South West Norfolk. I serve on the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee in Parliament and lobby on behalf of local farmers and growers. I am also the Co-Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Farming, and will be holding a Farming Conference in the constituency later this year in the Autumn.
I regularly feedback the conversations and ideas from local farmers and growers to Ministers and other Government officials to help inform policy decisions, most notably through lobbying against changes to Agricultural Property Relief, which the Government acted on.- Heating Oil Support
At the start of the conflict in Iran earlier this year, I immediately began working with Ministers and other Government officials calling for the need for a heating oil support fund. In South West Norfolk, there are over 22,000 homes that are reliant on heating oil, who suddenly had their heating oil costs triple with the war. A £53 million support fund was quickly established.
