This Norfolk Day, we want to continue to celebrate the amazing people, activities and places that are at the heart of our communities.
We’re inviting charities and voluntary groups in Norfolk to send in their photos capturing community projects in their area, showcasing community action and spirit.

How to enter
You can email your entries to us at shinebrighter@norfolkfoundation.com together with your completed entry form. Please see the competition terms and conditions and download an entry form here on our website.
The winning images will be announced to celebrate Norfolk Day on Thursday 27th July 2023. The winning entry will receive a £500 cash prize, with a second prize of £300 and a third prize of £200 available.
This is your last week to send your photos in! Deadline for submission is Friday 14th July 2023.

We offer a range of funding opportunities for voluntary groups and charities doing great work across Norfolk. We aim to invest in great ideas led by local people that make a real difference in our communities. Take a look below at some of the funds we currently have open.

Greening Our Communities Fund: Norfolk | Closes 17th July
Grants of up to £5,000 are available to support communities across Norfolk to take action to improve their local environment while providing people with the benefits of connecting with nature.
|
West Norfolk Rural Community Capital Grants Fund: Rural West Norfolk | Closes 2nd August
Grants are available to provide resilient community services and assets for local people to benefit the local economy, address the challenges of rural isolation, support social cohesion and boost local pride. This is a two-year funding opportunity, with grants of up to £10,000 available in year one.

Welcome to Norfolk Fund: Norfolk | Closes 15th August
Grants of between £500 and £5,000 are available to support local organisations in their response to the challenges faced by migrant, refugee and asylum communities. This funding opportunity is not available to national or regional charities and cannot support capital items.

Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk Defibrillator Scheme: King’s Lynn & West Norfolk | 31st October
Grants of up to £1,000 are available to purchase and install defibrillators in West Norfolk communities.

Saracen’s Norfolk Fund: South Norfolk | Open
Grants of up to £5,000 are available to support a range of community activities and charitable services benefitting people in rural areas within the district of South Norfolk. The Fund aims to maintain and strengthen projects that are working within deprived communities and supporting vulnerable people.

Villages Windfarm Community Fund: Holton, Sotherton and Westhall | Open
Grants of up to £5,000 are available to support projects which will benefit the residents of the parishes of Holton, Sotherton and Westhall. Funding can be used to support activity by small community organisations which has an economic, environmental, educational, social or cultural benefit for people living in the area.

Shakespeare’s Guildhall Trust Fund: King’s Lynn & West Norfolk | Open
Grants of up to £5,000 are available to support opportunities for local communities to get more involved in a range of creative, cultural and heritage activities in King’s Lynn.

The Paul Bassham Charitable Trust
Grants of £10,000, £25,000 and £50,000 are available to local charities supporting food nourishment, disabled and vulnerable individuals, carers and uniform groups in Norfolk from the Paul Bassham Charitable Trust (registered charity number 266842), in celebration of their 50th anniversary this year.
Charities wishing to apply for funding should send an application by way of a letter to Howes Percival LLP addressed to Trustees of the Paul Bassham Charitable Trust, Flint Buildings, 1 Bedding Lane, Norwich, NR3 1RG.
Applications have been extended and now close on 30th September.

Clive is one of our Senior Programmes Advisors, and is responsible for a range of the Foundation’s grant funding opportunities. He has worked in grant funding for more than 20 years, including several years with the National Lottery and a period working as an external grant assessor for BBC Children in Need.
